Chris Cosslett is the Macmillan Nurse attached to the practice.
She has worked in palliative care for 17 years. She joined the Torquay Macmillan
Team in July 2000, visiting patients in their homes to discuss their diagnosis
and symptom control. She liaises closely with the GP's, District Nurses and
Specialist in the hospital. She is also able to offer advice about benefits and
social care, liaising with appropriate agencies.

Our Aims
The Community Macmillan Team offers specialist advice and support for people with cancer and other illnesses.
Our Philosophy
We are a community based team working with patients and their carers in their own homes. We offer specialist symptom control advice and support. We aim to work in partnership with patients and carers and with their Primary Health Care Team and other agencies involved.
What you can expect from us
- Support for you, your partner, family and friends by telephone or visits to your home.
- Specialist advice about any symptoms you may experience.
- Access to specialist medical support and other parts of the specialist service, such as day care or lymphoedema management.
- Specialist advice for anyone involved in your care.
- Help and advice with financial or social problems.
- Liaison with other agencies involved in your care and other services that may be able to help.
- We work closely with your GP and District Nurse to help provide the best care possible.
The Team is based in three locations and works from 9.OOam to 5.OOpm Monday to Friday.
