| Hypertension Clinic |
Hypertension means, very simply, high blood pressure.
The vast majority of our patients have what is known as "benign essential hypertension", or high blood pressure with no obvious cause in everyday language. However it does mean that you will have to take medication.
You will be invited in to see either the Doctor or the nurse at regular intervals to have your hypertension checked. This will involve having blood taken for tests and a check up with the nurse. This check is done yearly, but your blood pressure will be checked every 6 months.
We will tell you when it is time to come in but it is always helpful if you remember when the check is in the year and make an appointment before we contact you.
