The District nursing team at Shiphay and Abbey Road surgeries consists of the team leader Sister Linda Challis, Staff nurse Jackie Bovey and Auxiliary nurse Elaine Courtier.

Our aim is to provide skilled nursing care to patients who are predominately house bound and deal with a wide range of conditions from Palliative care for patients with cancer or other chronic diseases, post-operative wound dressings, traumatic injuries, injections, continence advice, leg ulcer management and health promotion to name but a few.

We accept appropriate referrals not only from the GP’s but also from social services, patients and relatives. To contact us for advice contact the surgery leaving your details and a brief outline of your problem. Alternatively you can leave a message during office hours on our answer machine on telephone 320014 but not at weekends or Bank holidays. We are available Monday to Sunday during the hours of 9am-5.3Opm although at weekends the service is restricted to essential visits only. An out of hours service is available but is limited.
